Privacy, made clear
Privacy Policy
Decizion is designed to make food and menu decisions easier. We explain clearly what data is processed, why it is processed, where it is sent, and how long it is kept.
Last updated: August 2, 2026
A food or menu photo you take with the camera is sent to the Decizion backend and a third-party AI service so we can generate a decision for you. Photos are not used for advertising or sold for model training.
What does this policy cover?
This Privacy Policy explains the information processed when you use the Decizion mobile app and Decizion web pages. By using Decizion, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
As the operator of the app, Decizion processes only the data needed to provide the service, keep it secure and operational, manage subscriptions, and provide support. We do not sell your personal data to advertising lists.
What information do we collect?
- Camera and photos: When you take a food or menu photo or select one from your photo library, the image and technical information about your request are processed to generate a decision.
- Onboarding goal: The goal or preference you choose during onboarding is used to tailor the recommendation to you. This information helps interpret what the photo means in your context.
- Usage information: Pseudonymous or anonymized analytics events such as screen views, onboarding steps, decision requests, errors, and app version.
- Subscription information: Whether Decizion Pro is active, product ID, plan type, renewal status, and the related anonymous or pseudonymous customer ID. Decizion does not receive your payment-card details; Apple handles payment.
- Support information: Requests you send to us or through the App Store developer contact channel, plus information needed to resolve them.
Photo and AI processing
Taking a photo begins on your device. When you submit a decision request, the photo, your selected onboarding goal, and the context needed for the decision are transferred to the Decizion backend. The backend forwards the request to a third-party AI service to produce the output.
This transfer is used only to generate Decizion's decision about the food or menu. We do not use your photos for identity verification, ad targeting, or the sale of profiles. Make sure your photo does not include other people's faces, contact information, or sensitive documents.
The third-party AI provider may process data under its own terms and privacy practices. Decizion uses technical and contractual controls intended to prevent photos and decision requests from being used for model training. When required to provide the service, data may be processed on servers outside your country.
Analytics: PostHog
We use PostHog to understand whether Decizion's onboarding goals are clear, whether the decision flow works, and where the app can be improved.
Events sent to PostHog may include app version, device and operating system, country- or region-level location, an anonymous or pseudonymous user ID, and basic in-app actions. We do not send the camera photo itself, the photo's contents, or payment-card details as analytics events. We keep analytics data for up to 24 months, then delete or aggregate it.
Subscriptions: RevenueCat and Apple
We use RevenueCat to manage the status, entitlements, and renewal information for Decizion Pro subscriptions. RevenueCat helps us confirm whether your subscription is active; neither Decizion nor RevenueCat stores your payment-card number.
Purchases and payments are handled by the Apple App Store. Your Apple account, payment method, refunds, and billing details are governed by Apple's own policies. Decizion receives only the subscription status needed to grant you Pro access.
Subscription and customer records in RevenueCat may be retained while your subscription continues and for as long as needed to manage purchase history, fraud, or legal obligations. These records are deleted or anonymized when you request deletion of subscription data or when the retention purpose ends. Apple separately manages its own transaction records, which are outside that request.
Retention periods
If a legal obligation, security review, or unresolved dispute requires longer retention, the relevant data is kept only for as long as necessary.
How do we protect data?
We use encrypted connections during transfer, access restrictions, and data-processing controls with service providers. However, no transmission or storage method on the internet is entirely risk-free. Check the frame before taking a photo and avoid including unnecessary personal information.
Your rights and deletion requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you, or request information about its processing. In a deletion request, identify the account or subscription you used and the data you want deleted.
Send your request through the in-app support option or the official contact channel on Decizion's App Store developer page. This project does not contain a verified support email address, so we do not publish one here. We may need to verify the request to protect your identity and account. We respond to verified requests within a reasonable period unless the law requires longer retention.
Children's privacy and policy changes
Decizion is not a service directed to children, and we do not intend to knowingly collect personal data from children. If we make a material change to this policy, we will publish the current version on this page and, when required, provide notice in the app.
